Originally, the term \"Huachicol\" was used to describe the product driven from diluting brandy, whisky or rum with sugarcane; later it was adopted by trailer drivers to refer to stolen fuels.<\/p>

At the start of the year in Mexico, some states ran into a shortage of fuel derived from the fight against huachicol, understood as the theft and illegal sale of fuel in the country. This unleashed a controversy due to the chosen strategy, discomfort over such shortage and also, why not, a portrait on how each of us reacts when faced with difficult times or a crisis.<\/p>

It's always beautiful to see people, beyond any political views or personal interest, being solitary and comprehensive with facts.\nIt moves me to see those who suffer the consequences of what they believe, those who don't change their views because others say they don't agree or don't think like them, those who are willing to die even alone, because others won't fight the same battle, even if the disputed territory belongs to them too.\u00a0
<\/p>

And you will surely ask: What does any of this have to do with voice over? Well, in the last months with regard to our job in voice over and cost references, every change that has happened in the media and publicity services, seems to have stoped caring about the quality and instead focusing on the offer and demand of our professionals. It's as if the meaning and purpose, which in measured among many things in terms of money, of our profession has been altered. Yes, money, because it's a profession. Some think -\u00a1And even say!- that the new generations of voice artists should be payed less because that those who have more time, as if they're less \u00a1Imagine! Or that interpretations in each project doesn't need any professionals just because the media has become more diverse recently. It's true that communication and media has changed, because the world as a whole changes, so does every actor involved in merchandising, that includes us. Of course, we must also change and transform but that doesn't mean we should eliminate or degrade the quality of our work, much less that anyone can do what we do with just having access to a microphone, software or a project for recording.\u00a0
<\/p>

Don't misunderstand my words: Life constantly changes and voice over is no exception. \u00a1Of course it's necessary for new generation of voice artists to appear! Because we all have dreams and the right to make them come true, because those who already do this for a living are not eternal and we will slowly fade away, because talent is always looking to be \"refreshed\", because those who are new are our great teachers and seekers of new ways, and because together, new voice over artists and those with career, are a community with voice, talent, creativity and communication. I want that everyone who work at or want to work at comercial voice over know their job and how much it is worth and that such value goes beyond having or not having 30 years of experience, because or job is worth it's impact and importance, what we achieve through what we sat with our voice, the time and places in which we are heard.\nHence the importance and responsibility of preparation, to search new paths, to be better each day, wether we have 30 or no years worth of experience.
<\/p>

I wouldn't know which si the best strategy to face the huachicol in Mexico, but I firmly beige that the important thing is that it should be faced and I have no issue in sacrificing my personal interest for the greater food. So practicing the responsible use of the car, wait for the expected day to load gasoline if necessary and to make line for it, because I'm convinced it's what's right. And making a comparison with voice over, the strategy is to work and share the cost reference, and to be conscious that everyone can aspire to earn a fair salary for our job, understanding why, sharing knowledge and information, create communication channels for the in our community and share our knowledge between ourselves and those who wish to start on this path.
